During our journey, we’ll venture into the surrounding nature reserve, keeping a keen eye out for the diverse array of aquatic birds that call this important conservation area home.

5:00 – Pick-up and Transfer to Laguna de Sonso
Our private transport will pick you up directly at your hotel in Cali. We will start our journey early in the morning to arrive at the reserve just as the sun rises. This ensures we catch the peak hour of avian activity in one of the most important wetland ecosystems in the Cauca Valley.
7:00 – Arrival and First Birding Walk
Short birdwatching walk to begin exploring the area and observing the first aquatic and wetland bird species.
8:00 – Breakfast by the Lagoon
We will take a break at the main reserve house to enjoy a traditional breakfast right next to the water. As we eat, we can keep our binoculars ready for aquatic species moving along the edges of the lagoon.
8:30 – Wetland Trails & Marsh Specialists
After breakfast, we will explore the network of flat trails inside the reserve. We will scan the marshes, reed beds, and heavy canopy for important targets such as the Horned Screamer (a major highlight of the reserve).
10:30 - Boat Navigation in Cauca Rivera.
Boat ride along the Cauca River, offering great opportunities to observe birds and wildlife from a unique perspective.
12:00 - Lunch
13:00 - Afternoon Birding
Before heading back, we will do a final scouting session around the open pastures and mature trees near the main house.
14:00 Transfer to Cali
We will pack up our gear and board our comfortable transport for the drive back to Cali, arriving at your hotel in the afternoon.

7+ Days Prior to Tour Start: 100% refund of the tour price (minus a 10% administrative and bank fee).
3–6 Days Prior to Tour Start: 50% refund of the tour price.
0–2 Days Prior to Tour Start: No refund.
