REVIEWS!
EXCELLENT Based on 50 reviews Posted on Lowell BVerified Santa Rita Birding Day We visited the Santa Rita Reserve with Jorge from Pajareros Birding Tours this February and, despite a little rain, ended up having a really great day. The route was scenic throughout, and spotting a pair of torrent ducks and a pair of Andean dippers was a real treat, which we found because he knew the best places to look. This place is really magical, and one goes through different ecosystems on the way to a very cool waterfall. Jorge added a lot to the experience—finding birds even when the rain was making it a bit of a challenge. He kept the mood relaxed and made the whole experience a pleasure. Overall, it was a fun and memorable trip that we’d gladly recommend to anyone staying in Salento!Posted on Lowell BVerified Fantastic Day in the Cocora Valley We did a walking tour in the Cocora Valley this February and had an awesome time with Jorge. The scenery was incredible, and we spotted many great birds, including two pairs of masked trogons and a barred becard – which we were able to identify because of our guide’s patient and “never give up” approach for seeing birds. It felt like there was always something catching our eye. Jorge made the whole experience even better—he knows the birds in this area at an expert level and was great fun to be around. He kept things relaxed while still sharing plenty of interesting details, about birds, the landscape, plants, orchids etc. We also really liked the small touches, like the snacks he brought along. All in all, it was a memorable, enjoyable outing that we’d happily recommend to other people visiting the area.Posted on Christopher PVerified 35 species! Great Experience! Mateo was a fantastic guide! We saw 35 species on this walk and it was fantastic. Highly recommended!Posted on Melanie FVerified Great birding walk! It was a great experience! We got to see and learn about different birds plus a delicious breakfast in the beginning!Posted on lauren fVerified Fantastic Birding Tour We went on our first birding tour with Jorge and it was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable. It was an early morning, but we started with an authentic breakfast. We saw so many birds along the way. Highly recommend!Posted on Nicolas SVerified Great tour can really recommend Really great experience with a lot of information from our guide. He was very nice and explained us all well and cought a lot of birds. We were the first time on a birding tour and really enjoyed it.Posted on Tim WVerified Great birdwatching tour Had a great bird watching experience with Jorge. He knows a lot about birds and could identify pretty much every bird in the area. Without his sharp eye and hearing I couldn’t have found so many different birds. Definitely recommended!Posted on 176DavidGVerified Birding in Paradise We had an excellent birding trip with Jorge along the Quindio river at Santa Rita. We saw lots of new birds. He's highly enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. As a photographer, I also appreciated his sensitivity to my need not only to spot birds with my binoculars, but also to get a great photograph as well. We liked him so much that we booked a second tour that same week to the Cocora Valley, which was also fantastic. Highly recommend.Posted on Daniel GVerified Great trips to Cocora Valley and San Rita - birds aplenty! My brother and I took this trip because we were so satisfied with our first trip with Jorge, the head of Pagareros, to San Rita. Jorge is a great birding guide who excels at spotting and identifying birds. His enthusiasm for birding is infectious and he found many lifers for us. His English is very good. He would happily bird with him again (as we already have!).Posted on Alicia SVerified Amazing day! The tour was amazing! Jorge was so helpful and knew so much about the Cocora Valley, the birds and the nature. We saw some amazing species and learned so much! We all loved it and had the best day. Thank you Jorge!
EXCELLENT Based on 37 reviews Posted on Philip RigbyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic birding tours with extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide- Jorge. One of the best days we had in all of Colombia!Posted on Irene BenitoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We organized our whole birding vacation in Colombia with Pajareros Birding Tours, a 12-day tour through the Central and Western Andes (Nevado del Ruiz, Mistrató, Salento, San Cipriano, Dagua, and Km. 18 near Cali), and the experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Jorge, the owner and our main guide throughout the trip, was incredibly helpful accommodating our expectations and coming up with ideas to extend his original 10-day tour proposal with additional ecosystems. The communication was very friendly, smooth and with immediate responses. On top of his expert level of knowledge, he speaks great English and is a very fun and enthusiastic person to go birding with. With his guiding, and the help of top local guides in San Cipriano and Laguna de Sonso we were able to see more than 340 species, some of them really rare, like the wattled guan, dusky piha, Lyre-tailed nightjar, ocellated antbird, and many species of hummingbirds, tanagers and ducks… We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour, and Jorge, to hardcore birders looking to experience not only the nature, but also the people making possible the preservation of natural spaces in Colombia, as well as the real culinary culture of each place.Posted on Lowell BradyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great trip to the Carbonera Valley with our guide Jorge and driver Camilo. Jorge is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about birding. Camilo expertly navigated the drive and also helped with finding the birds. We saw many beautiful birds and got some great pictures, thanks to Jorge’s tips. The Carbonera valley is beautiful and well worth the trip. Thanks for a wonderful day!Posted on Alejandra SalgadoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A super fun activity! The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was attentive to our needs since we were traveling with seniors.Posted on Serena VaughanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We went for the full day Birdwatching hike - visiting the Acaime reserve, La Montaña and finishing at the Cocora Valley. We had a great time! Our guide, Germán, is super knowledge and passionate about birds as well as other local wildlife (he is a biologist). We are some of the first Brits he’s met, so he found our accents a little difficult at times, but he made sure we had the full experience and was very patient with our basic Spanish too. We saw over 25 different species including an Andean condor and a yellow-eared parrot. Germán would show us more information about where they can be found, detailed photos, and would also help guide us with the binoculars if needed. We also now have two new apps downloaded so we can plan bird song and identify the birds! The hike was also just a really nice hike. It was super muddy after a ton of rain but that was fun! We had a lovely lunch at the Acaime reserve, stopped for a coffee at La Montaña, and really enjoyed the review. We like walking quietly so we can enjoy hearing the sounds of nature and we were able to do this; there wasn’t any pressure to be constantly talking for seven hours. Plus, great effort was made in offering to take photos of us - and they’re some of the best we have from this trip! Thanks team, we had a great day. 100% recommend.Posted on ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great tour with Jorge. He's very passionate about birds! Definitely recommenend!Posted on Valentine BaraszTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great first birding experience, thanks to the expert knowledge, patience and communicative enthusiasm of our guide Santiago, who took us along the Cocora Valley and hummingbirds house and could tell us a lot about the birds we saw (both in English and Spanish). We saw many different birds, and I could also learn how to best spot them with the binoculars. I will truly cherish those memories!Posted on Armand L.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
