Arrival and transfer to Mistrató, a gateway to the rich birdlife of Colombia’s Western Andes. Along the way, enjoy scenic landscapes and the first opportunities for birdwatching.

 

Morning birding around Mistrató, exploring Andean forests known for their remarkable biodiversity. In the afternoon, transfer to Salento in the Coffee Region.

 

Birding in the iconic Cocora Valley, surrounded by towering wax palms, followed by birdwatching along the Río Quindío where many Andean forest species can be found.

 

A birding safari along the historic Camino Nacional, exploring diverse habitats and searching for a wide variety of Andean birds.

 

Visit Laguna de Sonso, an important wetland in the Cauca Valley, where we will observe waterfowl, herons, and many other wetland bird species.

 

Birdwatching in the lush Chocó rainforest around San Cipriano, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world with many unique and colorful species.

 

Transfer to Doña Dora, a well-known birding lodge located in the Western Andes, with beautiful landscapes and excellent bird diversity.

 

Full day of birdwatching around Doña Dora, exploring cloud forest habitats rich in hummingbirds, tanagers, and endemic Andean species.

 

Transfer to the famous KM18 birding area near Cali, a hotspot for birdwatchers known for its high number of species.

 

Final morning of birding at KM18, one of the most productive birding locations in Colombia, before concluding the tour.

 

Bookings, payments and cancellations policies

For questions and bookings please contact our team via email or WhatsApp (+57 3160834407). A $200 USD deposit per person is required to confirm your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total tour cost once the minimum group size of two people is reached. If the minimum group size is not met, your deposit will be refunded, minus a small fee to cover bank charges.

Note: We recommend waiting to book your flights until you receive official confirmation from Pajareros Birding Tours that the minimum group size has been met and your tour is confirmed.

Following confirmation of your booking by Pajareros Birding Tours, the full payment for the tour must be made before 60 days of the tour’s start date. Payment can be made via bank transfer or through a provided payment link.

If you need to cancel your tour, please notify us as soon as possible. For cancellations made more than 60 days before departure, a full refund, minus a small processing fee, will be issued. Cancellations made between 59 and 30 days prior to departure will incur a 30% fee. For cancellations within 30 days of departure, a 40% fee, plus any applicable bank fees, will be charged. For Cancellations within 15 days of departure, a 70% fee, plus any aplicable bank fees, will be charged.

Note: It is possible that due to unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions, we may need to make adjustments to the itinerary or guide. We will always strive to maintain the original itinerary as closely as possible, but flexibility is key to a successful birding tour.
