Day 0: Arrival to Armenia + Transfer to Salento

Arrival in Armenia followed by a scenic transfer to the colorful town of Salento, located in the heart of Colombia’s Coffee Region. Time to settle in and prepare for the birding adventure.

Day 1: Birding Safari to La Carbonera

Early morning birding trip to La Carbonera, home to the iconic Wax Palm forests and one of the best places to observe the endangered Yellow-eared Parrot along with many Andean bird species.

Day 2: Birding Boquia + Santa Rita

Birding around Boquía and Santa Rita, exploring lush Andean forests and river habitats where a great diversity of hummingbirds, tanagers, and other colorful species can be found.

Day 3: Birding SFF OTUN-QUIMBAYA + Transfer Manizales

Morning birding in Otún Quimbaya Flora and Fauna Sanctuary, a well-preserved Andean forest known for species such as the Cauca Guan. Later transfer to the city of Manizales.

Day 4: Birding Nevado del Ruiz

Birdwatching in the high-altitude ecosystems of Nevado del Ruiz, exploring páramo and high Andean forests where unique mountain bird species thrive.

Day 5: Birding Rio Blanco Nature Reserve

Full day exploring Río Blanco Nature Reserve, one of Colombia’s top birding destinations, famous for its antpittas and remarkable Andean forest biodiversity.

Day 6: Birding Tinamú Reserver-Departure

Final morning of birding at Tinamú Birding Reserve, a hotspot for hummingbirds and tropical species, before concluding the tour.

Bookings, payments and cancellations policies

For questions and bookings please contact our team via email or WhatsApp (+57 3160834407). A $200 USD deposit per person is required to confirm your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the total tour cost once the minimum group size of two people is reached. If the minimum group size is not met, your deposit will be refunded, minus a small fee to cover bank charges.

Note: We recommend waiting to book your flights until you receive official confirmation from Pajareros Birding Tours that the minimum group size has been met and your tour is confirmed.

Following confirmation of your booking by Pajareros Birding Tours, the full payment for the tour must be made before 60 days of the tour’s start date. Payment can be made via bank transfer or through a provided payment link.

If you need to cancel your tour, please notify us as soon as possible. For cancellations made more than 60 days before departure, a full refund, minus a small processing fee, will be issued. Cancellations made between 59 and 30 days prior to departure will incur a 30% fee. For cancellations within 30 days of departure, a 40% fee, plus any applicable bank fees, will be charged. For Cancellations within 15 days of departure, a 70% fee, plus any aplicable bank fees, will be charged.

Note: It is possible that due to unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions, we may need to make adjustments to the itinerary or guide. We will always strive to maintain the original itinerary as closely as possible, but flexibility is key to a successful birding tour.
